Holiday Energy Protection Tips
This holiday season, use protection rituals to help you stay grounded and shielded from stress or negativity, while maintaining your energetic mojo. Here are some seasonal ritual ideas to get you started:
1. Create a Sacred Space
Decorate your space with holiday symbols that make you feel safe and connected (from Christmas trees to menorahs, seasonal elements that you forage outdoors, or protective crystals like black tourmaline, amethyst, or selenite.
2. Light a Candle
As you light your candle, focus on the flame and visualize the light filling your space as it creates a protective barrier around you.
3. Smudge or Cleanse the Space
Use sage, Palo Santo, or incense to cleanse and, as you do this, say something like: “I cleanse this space and protect it with love and light, leaving behind peace and harmony.”
4. Visualize Protective Light
Close your eyes and imagine a beautiful, glowing light surrounding your body. See this light grow until it forms a protective shield around you, glowing brighter with each breath you take. Visualize this shield as strong and impenetrable, protecting you from stress, negativity, or any unwanted energy during the busy holiday season. Repeat this visualization before holiday gatherings.
5. Carry a Grounding Object
Consider wearing or carrying a protection crystal (like black obsidian, tigers eye or hematite), or a holiday-themed symbol (like a star or angel) that speaks to you. Keep it close, especially when you're around large groups of people or in stressful holiday situations (when it doubt, put one in your pocket or stick some in your bra).
6. Prioritize Self-Care
Make sure to recharge your energy with activities that bring you peace (meditate, have a bath, walk in nature, or give yourself 5 minutes to enjoy a cup of tea). Holiday stress often comes from overcommitment. Don't be afraid to say no or take time for yourself if needed.
